The Moon Under Her Feet Clysta Kinstler Books

This book is awesome!!! I am usually the type of person that either reads books that are suggested by people I know and trust..or stick to the same authors.. The discovery of this lovely piece was purely synchronistic. I was in search of a new read, and happened upon this one through a series of random searches.( I think I was searching for books similar to one of my other favorite books-The Lineage of the Codes of Light.) I am so happy that it came to me because it was the best book I have read in a long time. It is a beautiful story that delves deeply into the heart, dances with magic and deeper vision, and celebrates the strength, beauty, and ancient tradition of the Priestess Goddess. It is a story that inspires self reflection, personal evolution, and heart awakening. It is not likely a story of Jesus and Mary Magdalene that you have heard before, and for this it is a true masterpiece!

The Moon Under Her Feet Clysta Kinstler Books Reviews

Beautiful. Exquisitely told, and deeply moving. A Divine Feminine journey that feeds the soul.
I couldn't put this book down.
Historians like to say there is no proof of there ever being a matriarchal society, but to them I say "piffle!" Whether or not there were any, I sure do like reading about them...there is no denying a resonance there that I believe is part of our collective unconscious. If you like this novel, or prefer non-fiction there is another great book out now titled "Sex, Time, and Power How Women's Sexuality Shaped Human Evolution" by Leonard Shlain.
I was resistant to the possibility of Christ wed to Magdalen., and a child as a result. I read this on my daughters request.
I am deeply grateful for the fleshing out of the female achieved this writing; in Christ's life time and in us all !
I feel the author missed the fully awakened nature of the Magdelen, and stayed in the cause and effect realm of magic
too exclusively.
Beautiful! I loved the mythological feel of the prose, and how it weaved pagan/Goddessy beliefs into the Judeo-Christian tradition, resulting in one rich and colorful whole. Kinstler makes the legendary characters feel human--brought tears to my eyes in many places. Sure, it's probably not the way things "really happened" (neither is the Bible, most likely), but some parts *might* be, which leaves you with a sparkle of excitement. In short, any book that made me this proud to be a woman, a mother, and merely a human who loves life, deserves five stars. I'll almost certainly re-read it, which I can't say for many books.
I have a girlfriend who is Christian and is religious but not overly so. I bought her this book and gave it to her along with other presents for Christmas. I know she's always been curious about all the Goddess 'stuff' I keep talking about. I tried lending her "When God was A Woman" but it was too academic(dry) for her. She said she couldn't read it because it bored her.
This book was perfect for introducing her to some of the ideas of the Goddess in a way that was somewhat familiar to her (the story of Jesus&Mary). Plus the story was so much a story that she enjoyed it without even thinking of the philosophical side of it.
The only thing I wish for now is that the author come out with this book in Spanish! I told my mami a little about the book and she (Catholic) wants to read it! *sigh* But I've yet to hear about a Spanish version.
Overall, I really liked the book. The author really did her homework and incorporated a multitude of sources along with her vivid imagination on what Jerusalem, during the rule of Caesar, was like. Don't expect a regurgitation of the traditional biblical accounts of Jesus (Y'shuah) and Mary Magdalene (Mari Anath). This is based on heretical beliefs that have been hidden or suppressed by orthodoxy for millenia. Mary Magdalene was a high priestess of the great Goddess (Isis-Ashera in the book). Her status as harlot was figurative on two counts. The Great Mother was also known as the Great Whore. Sexuality is sacred in pagan belief systems. The patriarchal elite could not reconcile themselves with a woman who's status didn't require her to be married to her consort. There are other reasons why the title of prostitute probably stuck too, for which you 'll have to read the book to find out. The 'Virgin' Mary is also a significant character and not the Mary you think you know.
I just wished that the book could have been longer and more detailed. I hated it when it ended. I think the author should write a sequel on the Daughter. I'd give this book 4.5 stars.
I could not put this book down. It awakened something deep within me, and my kundalini began to rise! The symptoms haven't been super comfortable (heat, insomnia), however my perception of reality is altered. I feel I've become more of myself. I know, this book is fiction. But the writer was divinely inspired. What a beautiful, inspiring story and some surprising and unexpected consequences to reading it!
